“I had an excellent experience with this electrician from start to finish. Communication was prompt and professional, the work was completed on schedule, and the quality of craftsmanship was outstanding. They took the time to explain the process clearly, addressed all of my questions, and ensured everything was completed safely and up to code. The attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for my home truly stood out. I would confidently recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality electrical work. After a tree fell and took out the power line to our home, Brandon from Schultz Family Electric was at our house within the hour. After evaluating the damage, the news wasn’t great due to the age of our home, but Brandon immediately reassured us by saying, ‘Don’t worry. I got you.’ And he absolutely did. The entire housing setup needed to be upgraded, and he wasted no time getting started. He provided a precise and fair estimate, set us up with a generator for temporary power, and kept us informed every step of the way. Brandon and his coworker, Armando, completed the entire job in just one day. Their efficiency, professionalism, and dedication during such a stressful situation were truly exceptional. Brandon and Armando are genuinely good people: trustworthy, friendly, and honest. It’s rare to find contractors who combine such high-quality workmanship with integrity and compassion. I know I still have more projects to complete on my home, and Brandon will absolutely be the first person I call for any future electrical work.”

Would highly recommend! Brandon came to see us after hours the day we called to help us with our set up. We got a portable generator and had never owned any sort of generator before. He explained everything which we needed and any additional add-ons we might want for the future, but did not push us on ANYTHING. He showed us exactly the parts we needed on Amazon we could get ourselves to save a bit of money as well. Workers came out and were done in the span of 2 hours or so. They even did a little extra by routing the wiring so that the port outlet for the generator could be behind our fence as we asked for safety purposes. After all was done they showed us the steps on getting the generator running during outages and we did a test run so make sure all went well. They will also do maintenance and checks on your generator annually or bi-annually each year so to make sure all is well before hurricane season. Definitely will be my go to electrician.

Security Camera Installation Service

Security camera installation is the work of placing, wiring, and connecting the cameras that quietly watch over your home or business. A good camera system does far more than simply record video, since it deters trouble, documents events, and gives you real peace of mind. The value of any system depends heavily on how well it is planned, placed, and wired from the very start. Cameras mounted in the wrong spots leave wide blind spots, while poorly wired ones fail at the exact moment you need them most. Schultz Family Electric handles the electrical side of camera installation with the same care and precision we bring to every job. We run the wiring cleanly, provide reliable power, and place each camera carefully to cover the areas that matter most to you. We work with both traditional wired systems and power over ethernet, depending on what fits your particular property best. We conceal the cabling for a clean, professional look and protect it from both weather and deliberate tampering. We plan the coverage around the real vulnerable points of your home or business rather than guessing. Understanding everything that goes into a proper installation shows clearly why placement and wiring deserve such careful attention.

Planning the camera coverage is the essential foundation that any good system is ultimately built upon. The goal is to cover the points where someone would approach, enter, or linger around your property unnoticed. Entry doors, driveways, garages, and ground floor windows are consistently the places that matter the most. A camera aimed poorly wastes its entire view on a blank wall or the empty sky instead of the area of concern. We walk your property carefully and identify the angles that capture the most useful and complete coverage. We consider the field of view each camera provides and exactly how the cameras overlap with one another. Good planning eliminates the blind spots that an intruder could otherwise study and exploit. We also think carefully about lighting, since a camera needs enough light or night vision to see clearly after dark. We place each camera where it captures faces and real detail rather than just vague, useless movement. Thoughtful coverage planning is exactly what turns a scattered collection of cameras into a real security system.

Wiring and power are where the electrical expertise truly matters most in a security camera installation. A camera needs both reliable power and a stable connection in order to record and transmit its video. Power over ethernet, often called PoE, conveniently carries both the power and the data over a single cable to each camera. This streamlined approach simplifies the wiring considerably and is common in modern, reliable camera systems. We run the cabling cleanly through walls and attics to reach each individual camera location. We use the proper rated cable and protect it carefully wherever it must run outdoors. A camera with unreliable power or a single loose connection fails at exactly the moment you need it. We make every connection secure and tight so the system works dependably when it matters most. We plan the cable routes thoughtfully to minimize wall openings and keep the entire installation clean. Reliable wiring and power are ultimately what keep your cameras watching without any interruption.

Concealing the cabling protects both the appearance of your property and the security of the system itself. Exposed cables running across walls look unsightly and quietly undermine an otherwise clean installation. More importantly, exposed cabling can be cut or tampered with by someone trying to disable a camera. We run the cabling inside walls, through attics, and along protected paths wherever it is at all possible. This keeps the wiring hidden from view and well out of reach of any tampering. Where cabling absolutely must run outdoors, we protect it in conduit rated for the harsh local environment. We plan the routes carefully in advance to minimize the openings we need to make in your walls. A cleanly concealed installation looks genuinely professional and actively resists tampering attempts. We treat the cabling as a real part of the security, not merely as a connection between devices. Protecting the wiring is simply part of protecting the entire system as a whole.

The outdoor environment along the Gulf Coast places very real demands on any camera system installed here. Outdoor cameras face rain, humidity, intense heat, and corrosive salt air every single day of the year. Cameras and cabling that are not rated for these conditions corrode and fail surprisingly quickly here. We use cameras rated specifically for outdoor exposure and weatherproof every connection carefully and thoroughly. We protect all outdoor cabling in conduit suited to the wet, salty environment it must endure. We mount each camera securely so that wind and weather cannot shift its carefully aimed view. We position outdoor cameras thoughtfully to resist both the elements and any attempts at tampering. The constant humidity here makes proper weatherproofing far more important than it would be in a drier climate. We seal every outdoor connection against the moisture our coastal climate delivers without fail. Building the entire system for our specific environment is what keeps it working reliably through every season.

Connecting the system and confirming it actually works is the crucial final piece of a proper installation. Cameras must connect to a recorder or a network so that their video is reliably captured and made accessible to you. We connect the system carefully so you can view your cameras live and review the recorded footage easily. Many modern systems even allow convenient viewing from a phone or a computer from anywhere you happen to be. We set up the connection so the system is reliable, secure, and genuinely accessible whenever you need it. We confirm each camera is properly powered, connected, and capturing the exact view it is supposed to. We test the entire system to verify both the coverage and the recording before we ever consider it finished. A camera that is not properly connected provides absolutely no security at all, no matter how well placed. We make certain every part of the system works together smoothly as one intended whole. A fully connected and thoroughly tested system is one that you can actually rely on when it counts.

Every security camera installation at Schultz Family Electric follows the same careful, thorough process from start to finish. We begin by walking your property with you and planning the coverage around its real vulnerable points. We choose camera locations that capture useful detail and eliminate the blind spots an intruder would seek. We run the cabling cleanly and provide reliable, stable power to each and every camera. We conceal and protect the wiring carefully to keep it hidden from view and resistant to tampering. We weatherproof every outdoor camera and connection thoroughly for our demanding coastal climate. You receive a fair, upfront price before any work begins, with no unwelcome surprises waiting at the end. The diagnostic fee disappears the moment you choose us to perform the installation for you. We connect and test the entire system to confirm it works exactly as intended before we leave. Every installation we complete carries our lifetime craftsmanship warranty, and a knowledgeable person always answers when you call.

The Importance of a Licensed Electrician for Security Camera Installation in Angleton

The electrical side of a camera system involves wiring, power, and connections that all benefit from real professional expertise. A licensed electrician knows how to run cabling cleanly, provide reliable power, and make connections that last for years. That license is earned through exams, supervised field hours, and proven competence, which an unlicensed installer simply cannot offer. In Angleton, running new wiring through walls and outdoors often falls under requirements that a licensed contractor understands. The reliability of a security system depends on power and connections that do not fail when you need them most. A licensed electrician weatherproofs outdoor cameras correctly so our coastal climate does not disable them early. Poorly run or exposed cabling can be tampered with, which undermines the very security the cameras provide. Schultz Family Electric holds license number 748217 and backs every installation with a lifetime craftsmanship warranty. When your security depends on the system working reliably, the expertise of a licensed electrician is what makes that possible. For something meant to protect your family and property, that reliability is well worth it.

Commonly Asked Security Camera Installation Questions

A security camera system protects your property only when it is planned, wired, and connected correctly. These are the questions Angleton homeowners ask us most often before scheduling security camera installation:

The best camera placement starts with the points where someone would approach or enter your property. Entry doors are the top priority, since most intruders try a door first. Driveways and garages deserve coverage, as they see both vehicles and foot traffic. Ground floor windows are common entry points that benefit from a watchful camera. The areas where someone could linger unseen also deserve coverage. Good placement captures these spots while minimizing wasted views. The goal is useful coverage of the places that actually matter. We plan the placement around your property’s specific layout and risks.

Effective placement involves more than just pointing cameras at doors. The height and angle of each camera affect what it actually captures. A camera mounted too high may capture the top of a head rather than a face. A camera aimed into the sun or a bright light may wash out the image. We position cameras to capture faces and detail rather than vague movement. We consider how the cameras overlap to eliminate blind spots. We account for lighting and night vision so cameras see clearly after dark. Thoughtful placement is what makes the footage genuinely useful.

Schultz Family Electric plans your camera placement for real, useful coverage. We walk your property to identify its vulnerable points. We position cameras to cover entries, driveways, and other key areas. We set the height and angle to capture faces and detail. We plan the overlap to eliminate blind spots an intruder could exploit. We account for lighting so the cameras see clearly day and night. We explain the coverage plan in plain terms so you understand it. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Smart placement turns your cameras into real protection.

Wired and wireless cameras differ mainly in how they connect and receive power. A wired camera connects through cabling that carries its power and data. A wireless camera sends its video over your wifi network instead of a data cable. Even most wireless cameras still need power, whether from a battery or a cord. Wired systems, especially power over ethernet, offer the most reliable connection. Wireless systems offer easier placement where running a cable is difficult. Each approach has its strengths depending on the property and the goal. We help you choose the system that fits your situation best.

The reliability difference is worth understanding before you choose. A wired camera does not depend on a wifi signal that can weaken or drop. It receives steady power and a stable connection through its cable. A wireless camera depends on your network, which can be congested or interrupted. A battery powered wireless camera also requires charging or battery changes. For critical security coverage, a wired connection offers the most dependability. For convenience or hard to wire spots, wireless can be the practical choice. We weigh these factors with you for each camera location.

Schultz Family Electric installs both wired and wireless camera systems. We discuss the strengths of each approach for your property. We recommend wired or power over ethernet for the most reliable coverage. We use wireless where running a cable is impractical or unnecessary. We run and conceal the cabling cleanly for wired cameras. We confirm reliable power and connection for every camera. We explain the choice in plain terms so you can decide. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. The right system gives you dependable coverage that fits your property.

Security cameras benefit greatly from professional installation, even though some are sold as simple to set up. The electrical side of a camera system involves running cabling and providing reliable power. Cameras placed without planning leave blind spots that undermine the system. Cabling run by an amateur is often exposed, which looks poor and invites tampering. Outdoor cameras need proper weatherproofing to survive our coastal climate. A professional plans the coverage, runs the wiring cleanly, and weatherproofs the system. The difference shows in both the appearance and the reliability of the result. Professional installation turns cameras into a system you can trust.

There are real risks to a careless do it yourself camera installation. Poor placement leaves the gaps an intruder would exploit. Exposed cabling can be cut to disable a camera easily. Unreliable power or loose connections cause cameras to fail when needed. Outdoor cameras not weatherproofed correctly corrode and quit in our climate. A system that is not properly connected provides no security at all. These problems are easy to create without experience. They often surface at the worst possible moment.

Schultz Family Electric installs camera systems that actually work. We plan the coverage to eliminate blind spots. We run and conceal the cabling cleanly and securely. We provide reliable power and stable connections to every camera. We weatherproof outdoor cameras for our coastal climate. We connect and test the system to confirm it works. We explain the system in plain terms so you understand it. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. A professionally installed system gives you security you can rely on.

Whether cameras work during a power outage depends on how the system is set up. A standard wired system loses power when the home loses power. Without power, the cameras and the recorder both stop working. A battery backup can keep the system running through a short outage. An uninterruptible power supply protects the recorder and connected cameras. Battery powered wireless cameras may keep recording during an outage. The internet connection for remote viewing also depends on power. We help you plan for power outages based on your needs.

There are ways to keep a camera system running when the power fails. An uninterruptible power supply, or UPS, provides battery backup for the equipment. The UPS keeps the recorder and cameras powered through a short outage. For longer outages, a generator can keep the whole system running. The network equipment also needs backup power for remote viewing to work. We can design the system with backup power for critical coverage. The right approach depends on how long you need coverage to last. We explain the options so you can decide what fits.

Schultz Family Electric plans your camera system for power outages. We discuss how important continuous coverage is to you. We recommend a battery backup for short outages when needed. We plan for generator support when longer coverage matters. We include the network equipment in the backup plan. We confirm the system stays online for remote viewing. We explain the options in plain terms so you can choose. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. The right backup keeps your cameras watching when it counts.

The number of cameras a home needs depends on its size and layout. A small home may be well covered by a handful of cameras. A larger property with more entries and angles needs more. The goal is covering the vulnerable points without wasteful overlap. Every entry door deserves coverage as a top priority. Driveways, garages, and key windows add to the count. The areas where someone could approach unseen also need watching. We plan the right number based on your specific property.

More cameras are not always better, and placement matters more than count. A few well placed cameras can outperform many poorly aimed ones. The key is covering the points that matter without leaving blind spots. Overlapping coverage at critical areas adds reliability. Wasting cameras on low risk areas adds cost without much benefit. We focus the coverage where it genuinely protects your home. We plan the overlap so no important area goes unwatched. The right number is the one that covers your property well.

Schultz Family Electric plans the right number of cameras for your home. We walk your property to identify the points that need coverage. We determine how many cameras cover those points well. We plan the placement and overlap to eliminate blind spots. We avoid wasting cameras on areas that add little protection. We balance thorough coverage with sensible cost. We explain the plan in plain terms so you understand it. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. The right number of cameras protects your home without waste.

Weather can damage outdoor cameras that are not rated and installed for the conditions. Outdoor cameras face rain, humidity, heat, and salt air along the Gulf Coast. A camera not rated for outdoor use will corrode and fail quickly here. The connections are especially vulnerable to moisture if not sealed. The cabling can degrade outdoors if it is not properly protected. Proper weatherproofing is what lets a camera survive our climate. We use rated cameras and seal every connection carefully. Building for the weather from the start prevents early failure.

Our coastal climate is harder on equipment than many people expect. The constant humidity works its way into unsealed connections. Salt air accelerates corrosion on cameras and hardware. Heat stresses electronics that are not rated for outdoor temperatures. Wind driven rain finds any gap in a poorly sealed installation. These conditions defeat equipment meant for milder climates. We choose cameras and materials built to withstand them. We pay close attention to sealing and protection outdoors.

Schultz Family Electric installs outdoor cameras built to last here. We use cameras rated specifically for outdoor exposure. We seal every outdoor connection against moisture and humidity. We protect the cabling in conduit suited to the environment. We mount the cameras securely against wind and weather. We position them to resist both the elements and tampering. We explain the weatherproofing in plain terms. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Properly weatherproofed cameras keep watching through every season.

Yes, most modern camera systems let you view your cameras from your phone. The system connects to your network and an app on your phone. From the app, you can watch live video from anywhere you have a connection. Many systems also let you review recorded footage from your phone. Some send alerts to your phone when they detect motion. This remote access is one of the most valued features of a modern system. It lets you check on your home whether you are at work or away. We set up the connection so this access works reliably.

Setting up reliable remote viewing involves a few key pieces. The cameras must connect to a recorder or network device. That device must connect to your internet for remote access. The app on your phone links to the system through that connection. A stable network and internet connection keep the viewing reliable. We confirm each piece works so the remote access is dependable. We also consider the security of the connection itself. We set up the system so you can trust the remote viewing.

Schultz Family Electric sets up remote viewing for your camera system. We connect the cameras to the recorder or network device. We confirm the system connects reliably to your internet. We help set up the app so you can view from your phone. We test the remote viewing to confirm it works dependably. We explain how to use the live view and recordings. We consider the security of the connection in the setup. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Reliable remote viewing lets you check your home from anywhere.

The amount of footage a system stores depends on the recorder, the drive, and how the cameras record. Most systems use a recorder with a hard drive that holds days or weeks of video. The storage capacity of that drive sets how far back you can review footage. Higher resolution cameras produce larger files and fill a drive faster. The number of cameras also affects how quickly the storage fills up. Most recorders overwrite the oldest footage once the drive is full. We help you choose storage that holds enough footage for your needs. The right setup balances video quality against how long you keep recordings.

Several settings influence how much footage you can keep. Recording continuously fills a drive faster than recording only on motion. Motion based recording stretches your storage by skipping empty hours. Lower resolution stores more footage but captures less detail. Higher resolution captures sharper detail but uses more space. The frame rate of the recording also affects the storage used. We balance these settings to fit how you want to use the system. The goal is enough useful footage at the quality you need.

Schultz Family Electric sets up storage to fit your needs. We help you choose a recorder and drive with adequate capacity. We balance resolution and recording settings against storage time. We set up motion based recording when it suits your goals. We confirm the system retains footage as long as you need. We explain how the storage and overwriting work. We help you understand how to review and save footage. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. The right storage keeps the footage you need available when it matters.
