In Freeport, TX, Schultz Family Electric wires pools, installs ceiling fans, and upgrades electrical service safely, giving you clear options before any work begins and zero pressure to ever overspend.

Trusted Electrician in Freeport

Freeport sits right on the Gulf, and that coastal setting puts demands on home wiring that an out of town electrician rarely understands. Schultz Family Electric knows this corner of Brazoria County well, since our licensed team works under license number 748217 and serves the coast every single day. We approach each job as the start of a lasting relationship rather than a one time transaction, so you receive straight recommendations and fair pricing without any pressure to add work you do not need. A real person picks up when you call our office, ready to answer your questions and dispatch a technician to your door. We also waive the diagnostic fee once you hire us for the repair, which folds the cost of the diagnosis directly into the fix itself. You will review every available option before we lift a tool, so the final invoice never holds a single surprise. Each completed install carries our lifetime craftsmanship warranty, a promise that shows how firmly we stand behind the quality of what we build. Because our crew operates out of nearby Angleton, we reach Freeport fast and already recognize how salt air, humidity, and storm exposure wear on local electrical systems. That hands on familiarity helps us pinpoint the real cause of a problem quickly and restore your power sooner. From a tripping breaker to a corroded outdoor outlet, we bring the same focus to every call and treat your home with genuine respect.

Our Electrical Service in Freeport, TX

When the power cuts out without warning or a burning smell drifts from an outlet, you need an electrician who answers fast and arrives ready to work. Schultz Family Electric runs emergency electrician service across Freeport for the failures that simply cannot wait until morning. A panel that sparks, a breaker that will not reset, or an outlet that suddenly goes dark all point to a fault that demands quick attention. Our licensed team traces the problem to its source rather than guessing, then makes a safe repair that holds. Electrical service repair also covers the slower troubles that creep in over time, like dimming lights, dead receptacles, and circuits that drop under load. We diagnose the root cause and explain your options in plain language before any work begins. The diagnostic fee is waived once you hire us for the repair, so the cost of finding the fault rolls straight into fixing it. That approach keeps the whole process honest, transparent, and free of the surprises that other shops spring on you at the end.

The electrical panel directs power to every circuit in your home and stands as the first guard against overloads and short circuits. Schultz Family Electric installs new panels in Freeport sized to your true demand, with headroom set aside for the appliances and additions you plan to add later. Many coastal homes still operate on 100 amp service, which strains badly once you stack central cooling, electric cooking, and a houseful of modern devices onto it. We upgrade those overtaxed systems to 200 amp panels that handle heavier draw safely and stop the nuisance trips that interrupt your day. A panel showing corrosion, scorch marks, a warm cover, or a hint of melted plastic needs repair without delay. Our electricians swap failing breakers, retighten loose lugs, and correct overloaded bus bars before a fault has any chance to ignite. We also build electrical subpanels for garages, shops, and additions that need their own circuit space without overloading the main service, and we repair subpanels that have begun to fail. Every panel job finishes with a clearly labeled directory, so the right breaker is simple to locate the moment you need it.

Wiring carries current through every wall, which is why worn or damaged wiring ranks among the top causes of fire in older houses. Schultz Family Electric handles complete rewiring for aging Freeport homes still running cloth insulated conductors or aluminum branch circuits. Aluminum wiring from past decades expands and contracts with use, loosening connections and creating hot spots hidden behind switches and receptacles. Our team replaces that tired wiring with copper conductors and terminations rated for the exact loads they carry. Dedicated circuit installation keeps power hungry appliances like ranges, dryers, and built in microwaves off shared lines that would otherwise trip under strain. Air conditioning wiring earns its own dedicated circuit too, since window and central units pull a steep startup surge that quickly overwhelms a shared branch. Garage wiring projects add receptacles, lighting, and circuits for tools, freezers, and workshop equipment that a standard outlet cannot support. Every conductor we pull meets the National Electrical Code along with the rules Brazoria County enforces, so your home clears inspection without trouble.

Receptacles take constant use, and worn ones lose their grip on the plug, arc at the contacts, or stop working altogether. We install and replace standard outlets, then check each one for correct polarity, a solid ground, and a firm, lasting connection. GFCI outlet installation guards against shock in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, laundry rooms, and any outdoor spot where coastal moisture is a daily fact. Code requires GFCI protection wherever water sits near electricity, and we confirm your home meets that standard in every location it applies. Circuit breaker installation and repair keep the panel doing its job, since a breaker that trips again and again is usually flagging a deeper fault. Our electricians fit new breakers and repair panels where breakers refuse to seat firmly or reset the way they were built to. Electrical grounding gives stray current a safe path to earth and shields your sensitive electronics from surges and lasting damage. We add ground rods, bonding jumpers, and grounding electrodes to older systems built long before those protections became standard practice.

Good lighting changes how a room feels and how safely you move through it after dark, especially on stairs and in long hallways. Interior lighting installation covers every form, from recessed cans and track heads to pendants, wall sconces, and under cabinet strips. Ceiling fan installation cools living spaces and trims cooling bills, but each fan needs a fan rated box to stay secure overhead through years of motion. Our team mounts and balances ceiling fans so they spin quietly, hang firmly, and circulate air the way they should through long Gulf Coast summers. Outdoor lighting installation strengthens curb appeal while keeping driveways, patios, and walkways visible through the darkest hours of the night. We set landscape fixtures, security floodlights, and motion sensors around Freeport homes to deter prowlers and light a clear path to the door. Switching to LED fixtures cuts wattage and heat while keeping rooms bright for years with very little upkeep. We can add dimmers and timers throughout the house, handing you control over the mood, the schedule, and the monthly power bill.

Electric vehicles depend on a Level 2 charger to refill the battery overnight, since a standard wall outlet charges far too slowly for daily driving. We handle EV charger installation on dedicated 240 volt circuits, sized to both your vehicle and the spare capacity inside your panel. Generator installation keeps refrigerators, well pumps, lights, and air conditioning alive when a coastal storm knocks out the utility feed. Our electricians wire the automatic transfer switch so the generator starts on its own and powers your home safely without dangerous backfeed onto the grid. Whole house surge protection mounted at the panel shields every device from the voltage spikes that ride utility lines during the frequent storms this area sees. Hot tub wiring requires a GFCI protected circuit and a weatherproof disconnect placed a safe distance from the water. We also handle pool wiring to code with bonding that ties the metal components together and removes the shock hazard near the water. Each of these systems carries real danger when wired incorrectly, which is precisely why a licensed electrician should always do the work.

Safety devices protect the people inside your home, and they only work when a professional installs them correctly. Smoke detector installation places hardwired units with battery backup on every floor and inside each bedroom, exactly as the code directs. Fire alarm installation for larger homes and commercial buildings links every detector together, so a single trigger sounds the alarm across the entire structure. Security camera installation lets you watch entryways, driveways, and yards from your phone, with cabling and a recorder set up to capture sharp footage and store it reliably. An electrical inspection uncovers hidden hazards like overloaded circuits and corroded connections before they grow into outages or fires, a real concern in salt air. Smart home installation pulls lighting, thermostats, locks, and cameras into one app, and we wire the switches, hubs, and panels so every device responds the way you intend. Home theater installation calls for clean power, concealed cabling, and neatly placed outlets, and we wire media walls so your gear runs cool and stays organized. Commercial electric clients across Freeport count on us for lighting, panel work, tenant build outs, and inspection ready installations scheduled around their business hours. Across every one of these services, Schultz Family Electric brings the same licensed care, fair pricing, and lifetime craftsmanship warranty that keeps Freeport homeowners calling us first.

Why Electrical Code Compliance Matters for Homeowners in Freeport

Freeport lives right on the Gulf, and salt air, humidity, and storm surge all test a home’s electrical system. Code compliance is what stands between that harsh coastal environment and a safe, reliable household. The National Electrical Code sets strict rules for corrosion resistant connections, grounding, and moisture protection. Homes near the water need GFCI outlets in the right spots to guard against shock in damp conditions. Flooding is a constant concern here, and submerged wiring or panels must be evaluated and repaired to code before reuse. Many older Freeport houses still run on service panels that cannot keep up with modern loads. Overloaded circuits in a coastal home invite both fire risk and frequent outages. Permits and inspections confirm that storm related repairs actually meet the standard. Insurers in flood prone areas often require code compliant work before they will pay a claim. Wiring a Freeport home to code is a practical defense against the elements and the unexpected.

“I had an excellent experience with this electrician from start to finish. Communication was prompt and professional, the work was completed on schedule, and the quality of craftsmanship was outstanding. They took the time to explain the process clearly, addressed all of my questions, and ensured everything was completed safely and up to code. The attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for my home truly stood out. I would confidently recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality electrical work. After a tree fell and took out the power line to our home, Brandon from Schultz Family Electric was at our house within the hour. After evaluating the damage, the news wasn’t great due to the age of our home, but Brandon immediately reassured us by saying, ‘Don’t worry. I got you.’ And he absolutely did. The entire housing setup needed to be upgraded, and he wasted no time getting started. He provided a precise and fair estimate, set us up with a generator for temporary power, and kept us informed every step of the way. Brandon and his coworker, Armando, completed the entire job in just one day. Their efficiency, professionalism, and dedication during such a stressful situation were truly exceptional. Brandon and Armando are genuinely good people: trustworthy, friendly, and honest. It’s rare to find contractors who combine such high-quality workmanship with integrity and compassion. I know I still have more projects to complete on my home, and Brandon will absolutely be the first person I call for any future electrical work.”

Would highly recommend! Brandon came to see us after hours the day we called to help us with our set up. We got a portable generator and had never owned any sort of generator before. He explained everything which we needed and any additional add-ons we might want for the future, but did not push us on ANYTHING. He showed us exactly the parts we needed on Amazon we could get ourselves to save a bit of money as well. Workers came out and were done in the span of 2 hours or so. They even did a little extra by routing the wiring so that the port outlet for the generator could be behind our fence as we asked for safety purposes. After all was done they showed us the steps on getting the generator running during outages and we did a test run so make sure all went well. They will also do maintenance and checks on your generator annually or bi-annually each year so to make sure all is well before hurricane season. Definitely will be my go to electrician.
