“I had an excellent experience with this electrician from start to finish. Communication was prompt and professional, the work was completed on schedule, and the quality of craftsmanship was outstanding. They took the time to explain the process clearly, addressed all of my questions, and ensured everything was completed safely and up to code. The attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for my home truly stood out. I would confidently recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality electrical work. After a tree fell and took out the power line to our home, Brandon from Schultz Family Electric was at our house within the hour. After evaluating the damage, the news wasn’t great due to the age of our home, but Brandon immediately reassured us by saying, ‘Don’t worry. I got you.’ And he absolutely did. The entire housing setup needed to be upgraded, and he wasted no time getting started. He provided a precise and fair estimate, set us up with a generator for temporary power, and kept us informed every step of the way. Brandon and his coworker, Armando, completed the entire job in just one day. Their efficiency, professionalism, and dedication during such a stressful situation were truly exceptional. Brandon and Armando are genuinely good people: trustworthy, friendly, and honest. It’s rare to find contractors who combine such high-quality workmanship with integrity and compassion. I know I still have more projects to complete on my home, and Brandon will absolutely be the first person I call for any future electrical work.”

Would highly recommend! Brandon came to see us after hours the day we called to help us with our set up. We got a portable generator and had never owned any sort of generator before. He explained everything which we needed and any additional add-ons we might want for the future, but did not push us on ANYTHING. He showed us exactly the parts we needed on Amazon we could get ourselves to save a bit of money as well. Workers came out and were done in the span of 2 hours or so. They even did a little extra by routing the wiring so that the port outlet for the generator could be behind our fence as we asked for safety purposes. After all was done they showed us the steps on getting the generator running during outages and we did a test run so make sure all went well. They will also do maintenance and checks on your generator annually or bi-annually each year so to make sure all is well before hurricane season. Definitely will be my go to electrician.

Commercial Electric Service

Commercial electric covers the full range of electrical work that businesses and commercial buildings genuinely require. This kind of work differs from residential in scale, in complexity, and in the strict code requirements that apply to it. Commercial buildings often use three phase power, larger services, and specialized equipment that homes simply never see. The stakes are considerably higher because electrical problems in a business mean lost productivity and lost revenue. A single failed circuit can shut down a register, a production line, or even an entire storefront in moments. Commercial code requirements are noticeably stricter, reflecting the higher occupancy and heavier use of these buildings. Schultz Family Electric understands these requirements and the real demands a business places on its electrical system. We approach every commercial job with the reliability and deep code knowledge that the work genuinely demands. We work hard to keep your system safe, compliant, and running without any costly interruption. Understanding how commercial electric truly differs shows clearly why real experience matters so much for your business.

Three phase power is a defining feature of much of the commercial electrical work that we perform. Many commercial buildings receive three phase service rather than the single phase that is common in homes. Three phase power delivers more capacity and runs large motors and heavy equipment far more efficiently. Commercial HVAC, machinery, and other large loads very often require three phase power to operate. Working with three phase service demands specialized knowledge that ordinary residential work simply does not require. The wiring, the panels, and all the connections differ meaningfully from single phase systems. We understand three phase service thoroughly and the demanding equipment it reliably powers. We size and install three phase circuits carefully for all of your commercial equipment. We diagnose problems in three phase systems that a typical homeowner would never even encounter. Our hands on experience with three phase power keeps your commercial equipment running reliably every day.

Commercial lighting involves systems and requirements that reach well beyond ordinary residential lighting. Commercial buildings need bright, efficient, and genuinely reliable lighting for both safety and productivity. Offices, retail spaces, warehouses, and parking areas each carry their own specific lighting needs. Energy efficient LED lighting lowers operating costs significantly in nearly any commercial setting. We install and retrofit commercial lighting to improve both efficiency and overall quality throughout. Commercial lighting also includes the emergency and exit lighting that the code specifically requires. These systems absolutely must function during a power failure to safely guide people toward the exits. We install and maintain all of the emergency lighting that your particular building requires by code. We keep your lighting both efficient and fully code compliant year after year. Good commercial lighting directly improves safety, productivity, and ultimately your bottom line.

Equipment circuits and dedicated wiring are what keep your commercial machinery running reliably. Commercial equipment very often requires dedicated circuits sized precisely to its specific electrical load. A motor, a compressor, or a key piece of machinery all need proper power to operate correctly. We always read the equipment specifications carefully and provide exactly the right circuit for each one. Undersized wiring causes equipment to malfunction and creates a genuine and serious safety hazard. We size every single equipment circuit to the actual load it is going to serve. We install the disconnects and the overcurrent protection that commercial equipment requires by code. We also handle the controls and the specialized connections specific to your particular machinery. Properly wired equipment runs both reliably and safely throughout your entire facility. Keeping your equipment powered correctly is genuinely essential to your daily operations.

Code compliance and inspections carry noticeably higher stakes in commercial work than in homes. Commercial buildings face stricter code requirements than residential properties do across the board. These tougher requirements reflect the higher occupancy, the public access, and the varied uses involved. Inspections verify that your electrical system actually meets all of these demanding standards. A single code violation can shut down a business or block a needed certificate of occupancy. We thoroughly understand the commercial code requirements that your specific building must meet. We perform work that passes inspection and keeps your business fully compliant going forward. We handle all the permits and coordinate the inspections for your commercial projects directly. We keep your documentation in good order for your records and any future sale of the property. Staying compliant protects your business from the costly interruptions that violations can cause.

Minimizing disruption is a real priority that genuinely sets commercial work apart from residential. A working business simply cannot shut down for electrical work during its normal operating hours. We carefully plan our work to minimize the impact on your day to day operations. We schedule the work around your business hours whenever the project reasonably allows it. We coordinate any necessary power outages for the specific times that least affect your business. We work efficiently to restore full operation as quickly as we possibly can. We communicate clearly throughout so that you can plan reliably around the work. We genuinely understand that downtime costs you both money and valued customers. Our goal is consistently reliable electrical work delivered with the very least possible disruption. Keeping your business up and running is always a built in part of our plan.

Every commercial electric project at Schultz Family Electric follows the same careful, business focused process from start to finish. We begin by fully understanding your facility, your daily operations, and your real electrical needs. We design the work around reliability, code compliance, and the least possible disruption to you. We size three phase service and equipment circuits precisely to your actual measured loads. We install efficient commercial lighting along with all the required emergency systems by code. We handle the permits and coordinate every inspection for the project from beginning to end. You receive a fair, upfront price before any work begins, with no surprise charges at the end. The diagnostic fee disappears the moment you choose us to perform the work for you. We work around your schedule deliberately to keep your business running throughout the job. Every job we complete carries our lifetime craftsmanship warranty, and a knowledgeable person always answers when you call.

Commonly Asked Commercial Electric Questions

Commercial electric keeps your business safe, powered, and compliant with the stricter codes that commercial buildings face. These are the questions Angleton business owners ask us most often before scheduling commercial electric work:

Commercial and residential electrical work differ in several important ways. Commercial work involves larger services and often three phase power. Residential work typically uses single phase power at lower capacities. Commercial buildings face stricter code requirements than homes. These stricter codes reflect higher occupancy and public access. Commercial equipment is larger and more demanding than residential appliances. The scale and complexity of commercial work are simply greater. These differences require specific knowledge and experience.

The stakes also differ between the two types of work. A failure in a home is an inconvenience for a family. A failure in a business means lost revenue and productivity. Commercial work must prioritize reliability to keep the business running. Downtime in a commercial setting carries a real financial cost. The wiring methods and materials often differ as well. Commercial buildings frequently use conduit where homes use cable. We understand these differences and approach commercial work accordingly.

Schultz Family Electric brings the right expertise to commercial work. We understand three phase power and larger commercial services. We know the stricter codes that commercial buildings must meet. We size and install commercial equipment circuits correctly. We prioritize reliability to keep your business running. We use the wiring methods commercial work requires. We explain the work in plain terms so you understand it. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Our commercial experience protects your business and your bottom line.

Three phase power is a type of electrical service common in commercial settings. It delivers power through three conductors rather than the single phase used in homes. This arrangement provides more capacity and runs large equipment efficiently. Three phase power is ideal for motors, machinery, and heavy loads. Many commercial buildings receive three phase service from the utility. Whether your business needs it depends on your equipment and loads. Light commercial spaces may operate on single phase power. Heavier operations almost always require three phase service.

The need for three phase power comes down to your equipment. Large motors run more smoothly and efficiently on three phase power. Commercial HVAC, compressors, and machinery often require it. Single phase power struggles to run these large loads efficiently. If your equipment specifies three phase, your building needs it. Some businesses convert single phase to three phase with equipment. We evaluate your loads to determine what your business requires. The right service matches the equipment you actually use.

Schultz Family Electric handles three phase power for commercial clients. We evaluate your equipment and loads to determine your needs. We size and install three phase service and circuits correctly. We diagnose problems in three phase systems accurately. We install the equipment connections three phase machinery requires. We explain whether your business needs three phase power. We never recommend more service than your operation needs. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. The right power keeps your commercial equipment running reliably.

Keeping your business code compliant starts with understanding the requirements. Commercial buildings face stricter electrical codes than homes. These codes cover wiring, panels, lighting, and emergency systems. A licensed electrician knows the requirements your building must meet. Regular inspection helps catch issues before they become violations. Any electrical work should be permitted and inspected. Documentation of compliant work protects your business. Staying compliant prevents costly shutdowns and liability.

Several areas commonly affect commercial compliance. Emergency and exit lighting must function and meet code. Panels and wiring must be properly labeled and accessible. Equipment circuits must be sized and protected correctly. GFCI and other protection must be present where required. Changes to the building or its use can trigger new requirements. We help you understand and meet these requirements. Staying ahead of compliance avoids problems down the road.

Schultz Family Electric keeps your business code compliant. We understand the commercial code requirements your building faces. We inspect your system for compliance issues. We correct violations and bring your system up to code. We handle permits and coordinate inspections for the work. We keep documentation in order for your records. We explain the requirements in plain terms. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Compliance protects your business from costly interruptions.

Failing commercial lighting can have several causes worth investigating. Aging fixtures and ballasts fail over time in commercial use. Heavy daily use wears commercial lighting faster than residential. Voltage issues in the building can shorten fixture life. Overloaded or failing circuits affect lighting performance. Incompatible components in retrofitted lighting cause problems. Poor connections in the wiring create intermittent failures. Identifying the real cause requires inspecting the lighting and circuits. We diagnose the problem rather than just replacing bulbs.

The high use of commercial lighting creates specific issues. Lights running many hours a day wear out faster. Older fluorescent ballasts fail and cause flickering or outages. Retrofitting to LED can solve recurring fluorescent problems. Voltage fluctuations stress lighting and shorten its life. Connections that loosen over time cause intermittent failures. We trace these issues to their source. Solving the cause prevents repeated failures.

Schultz Family Electric solves commercial lighting failures at the source. We inspect the fixtures, ballasts, and connections. We check the circuits and voltage feeding the lighting. We identify whether retrofitting to LED solves the problem. We correct the connections and circuits causing failures. We recommend efficient lighting that lasts in commercial use. We explain what we found in plain terms. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the repair. Reliable lighting keeps your business safe and productive.

Yes, commercial buildings require emergency lighting by code. Emergency lighting guides people to safety during a power failure. Exit signs and emergency lights must function when the power goes out. These systems use batteries or backup power to stay lit. The code requires them based on occupancy and building use. They are essential for the safety of employees and customers. Regular testing keeps these systems functional. A failed emergency light is both a hazard and a violation.

Emergency lighting systems have specific requirements. Exit signs must be illuminated and clearly visible. Emergency lights must activate automatically during an outage. The batteries or backup must provide adequate runtime. The systems must be tested regularly to confirm function. Code specifies where these systems are required. We install and maintain these systems to meet code. Proper emergency lighting protects everyone in the building.

Schultz Family Electric installs and maintains commercial emergency lighting. We install exit signs and emergency lights to code. We confirm the systems activate during a power failure. We test and maintain the batteries and backup power. We verify the systems meet the requirements for your building. We correct any failures that create a hazard or violation. We explain the requirements in plain terms. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Proper emergency lighting keeps your building safe and compliant.

Commercial electrical systems should be inspected regularly for safety and reliability. The high use of commercial systems creates more wear than residential. Regular inspection catches problems before they cause failures. An annual inspection is a reasonable baseline for many businesses. Buildings with heavy use may benefit from more frequent checks. Inspection identifies aging equipment, loose connections, and code issues. Catching these early prevents costly downtime and hazards. Regular inspection is an investment in reliability.

Several factors affect how often to inspect. A building with heavy equipment use needs more frequent attention. An older building may have aging systems that need monitoring. Changes to the building or its use warrant an inspection. A history of electrical problems suggests more frequent checks. Insurance or code requirements may specify inspection intervals. We help you set a schedule that fits your building. Regular inspection keeps your system safe and reliable.

Schultz Family Electric provides commercial electrical inspections. We inspect your system for safety, wear, and compliance. We identify aging equipment and loose connections. We check for code issues that could become violations. We recommend an inspection schedule for your building. We explain what we find in plain terms. We address any issues we discover. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Regular inspection protects your business from costly surprises.

Yes, we handle the electrical work for commercial build outs and remodels. A build out turns an empty space into a functioning business location. That work involves wiring, panels, lighting, and equipment circuits from the ground up. A remodel updates an existing space for a new layout or use. Both require careful planning to meet the commercial code. We design the electrical system around how the space will be used. We coordinate with the other trades involved in the project. We deliver a system that is safe, compliant, and ready for business.

A commercial build out involves many electrical elements. The service and panels must support the planned loads. The lighting must meet code for the building’s use and occupancy. Equipment circuits must be sized for the machines and appliances. Emergency and exit lighting must be installed to code. Outlets and circuits must serve the layout efficiently. We handle all of these elements as part of the project. Good planning prevents costly changes during construction.
