“I had an excellent experience with this electrician from start to finish. Communication was prompt and professional, the work was completed on schedule, and the quality of craftsmanship was outstanding. They took the time to explain the process clearly, addressed all of my questions, and ensured everything was completed safely and up to code. The attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for my home truly stood out. I would confidently recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality electrical work. After a tree fell and took out the power line to our home, Brandon from Schultz Family Electric was at our house within the hour. After evaluating the damage, the news wasn’t great due to the age of our home, but Brandon immediately reassured us by saying, ‘Don’t worry. I got you.’ And he absolutely did. The entire housing setup needed to be upgraded, and he wasted no time getting started. He provided a precise and fair estimate, set us up with a generator for temporary power, and kept us informed every step of the way. Brandon and his coworker, Armando, completed the entire job in just one day. Their efficiency, professionalism, and dedication during such a stressful situation were truly exceptional. Brandon and Armando are genuinely good people: trustworthy, friendly, and honest. It’s rare to find contractors who combine such high-quality workmanship with integrity and compassion. I know I still have more projects to complete on my home, and Brandon will absolutely be the first person I call for any future electrical work.”

Would highly recommend! Brandon came to see us after hours the day we called to help us with our set up. We got a portable generator and had never owned any sort of generator before. He explained everything which we needed and any additional add-ons we might want for the future, but did not push us on ANYTHING. He showed us exactly the parts we needed on Amazon we could get ourselves to save a bit of money as well. Workers came out and were done in the span of 2 hours or so. They even did a little extra by routing the wiring so that the port outlet for the generator could be behind our fence as we asked for safety purposes. After all was done they showed us the steps on getting the generator running during outages and we did a test run so make sure all went well. They will also do maintenance and checks on your generator annually or bi-annually each year so to make sure all is well before hurricane season. Definitely will be my go to electrician.

Electrical Wiring Service

Electrical wiring is the network of conductors that carries power throughout your entire home safely and reliably. Every outlet, switch, light, and appliance connects directly to this network, which begins at your main panel. The wiring must be sized correctly, installed safely, and protected by the right breaker at every single point. When wiring is undersized, damaged, or simply aged, it becomes a real hazard that can cause fires or shock. Electrical wiring work ranges from adding a single new circuit all the way to rewiring an entire home. Schultz Family Electric handles that full range with the care and the deep code knowledge it genuinely demands. We size every conductor to its load, secure each connection firmly, and protect the wiring properly throughout. We follow the National Electrical Code on every job to keep your home safe and your insurance fully valid. We treat the wiring as the critical foundation that it truly is for everything else. Understanding how wiring actually works shows clearly why correct installation matters so very much.

Wire sizing is one of the single most important parts of any electrical wiring job we perform. The conductor must be sized to safely carry all the current that the circuit will ever draw. A wire that is too small overheats, and overheated insulation quickly becomes a serious fire hazard. The wire size, the breaker, and the connected load all work together as one matched system. A fifteen amp circuit uses fourteen gauge wire, and a twenty amp circuit uses twelve gauge wire. Larger circuits for major appliances use heavier wire sized specifically to their demanding load. The length of the run also affects the sizing, since long runs naturally lose voltage along the way. We carefully calculate voltage drop and then size the conductors to account for it properly. We never undersize a conductor simply to save a little on material costs. Proper wire sizing is genuinely the foundation of safe, reliable wiring that lasts for decades.

Connections are where many wiring problems actually begin, and so we make every single one secure. A loose connection creates electrical resistance, and that resistance in turn steadily creates heat. That building heat can lead to dangerous arcing and eventually to a fire inside the wall. We make tight, secure connections at every device and every junction throughout the home. We always use the proper connectors and terminals for the specific wire and the application. We never leave a connection anywhere it cannot be accessed inside a proper junction box. Backstabbed connections, which are common in older homes, are a very frequent source of failure. We replace those weak points with secure terminal connections that genuinely hold up over time. Aluminum wiring requires specially approved connectors to connect safely to copper conductors. We handle all of these details so your connections last for the full life of the wiring.

Whole home rewiring is a major project that many older homes around here eventually do need. Wiring degrades steadily over decades, and the old systems were built for far less electrical demand. Fabric wrapped wiring, knob and tube, and the early aluminum wiring all carry their own known issues. A home with any of these systems may genuinely need a complete rewire for everyone’s safety. Rewiring replaces all of the aging wiring with modern, safe conductors throughout the entire home. We carefully plan the rewire to minimize both disruption and damage to your finished walls. We work methodically room by room to keep the large project manageable and predictable. We add the grounding, the GFCI, and the AFCI protection that modern code now requires. A full rewire transforms an unsafe old system into a reliable, modern one you can trust. We handle this large and important project with all the planning and care that it requires.

Adding new circuits is one of the most common wiring requests that we receive from homeowners. A new appliance, a backyard workshop, or a home addition very often needs its own dedicated circuit. We run brand new wiring from the panel all the way to the new location safely and cleanly. We always confirm first that the panel actually has the capacity for the new circuit. We size both the wire and the breaker precisely to the load the circuit will serve. We route the new wiring cleanly and protect it everywhere the code specifically requires. We then install the outlets, switches, or connections that the new circuit ultimately needs. Adding a circuit correctly prevents the overloads that always come from sharing one already in use. We handle the entire new circuit from the panel all the way to the final connection point. A properly added circuit gives you safe, reliable power exactly where you genuinely need it.

Older homes around Angleton very often need real wiring upgrades for the sake of safety. Two prong outlets throughout a home clearly reveal a system without any proper grounding at all. Fabric wrapped wiring degrades steadily over the decades and becomes dangerously brittle with age. Early aluminum branch wiring can loosen and overheat right at its connection points over time. Undersized original wiring strains badly under the heavy load of today’s modern appliances. We identify all of these issues and then bring the wiring up to a genuinely safe standard. We add grounding wherever it is currently missing to provide real shock protection. We install GFCI and AFCI protection in every location where the code now requires it. We replace any damaged or unsafe wiring with modern, reliable conductors throughout. Upgrading old wiring directly protects your family and your home from very real hazards.

Every electrical wiring job at Schultz Family Electric follows the same careful, methodical process from start to finish. We begin by fully understanding the scope, whether it is a single circuit, a repair, or a full rewire. We then assess the existing wiring carefully along with the panel that feeds power to it. We size every conductor and every breaker precisely to the load it is going to serve. We make secure, lasting connections and route all of the wiring properly throughout the home. We add the grounding and the protection that the modern electrical code now requires everywhere. You receive a fair, upfront price before any work begins, with no surprise charges at the end. The diagnostic fee disappears the moment you choose us to perform the work for you. We pull all required permits and coordinate inspections whenever the scope of the work calls for it. Every job we complete carries our lifetime craftsmanship warranty, and a knowledgeable person always answers when you call.

The Importance of a Licensed Electrician for Electrical Wiring in Angleton

Electrical wiring carries enough current to cause fires and serious injury when it is done wrong, so the work genuinely belongs in trained hands. A licensed electrician knows how to size conductors to their load, make connections that hold for decades, and follow the code at every step. That license is not handed out freely; earning it requires passing exams, completing supervised hours in the field, and proving real competence first. In Angleton, most wiring work requires a permit and an inspection, and only a licensed contractor can pull that permit and stand behind the result. The danger of cutting corners is real, because undersized or loosely connected wiring creates a fire hazard hidden inside your walls where nobody can see it building. A licensed professional also brings older wiring up to a safe, modern standard rather than patching over the underlying problem. The stakes reach beyond safety, too: insurers may deny a claim when unlicensed wiring causes a fire, and manufacturers can void warranties over improper installation. Schultz Family Electric holds license number 748217 and backs every job with a lifetime craftsmanship warranty, so the work is documented, inspected, and guaranteed. When the safety of your entire home rests on the wiring behind the walls, hiring a licensed electrician is simply the wise choice.

Commonly Asked Electrical Wiring Questions

Electrical wiring carries power safely throughout your home, and the quality of that wiring affects your safety every day. These are the questions Angleton homeowners ask us most often before scheduling electrical wiring work:

Several signs indicate that a home may need rewiring. Frequent breaker trips suggest the wiring cannot handle the load. Flickering or dimming lights point to wiring or connection problems. Warm outlets or switch plates signal dangerous connections. A burning smell near outlets or the panel is an urgent warning. Two prong outlets throughout reveal a system without grounding. Discolored or scorched outlets indicate overheating connections. These signs suggest wiring that needs professional attention. Recognizing them early prevents a serious hazard.

The age and type of wiring also matter. Homes with knob and tube wiring often need rewiring. Fabric wrapped wiring degrades and becomes brittle over time. Early aluminum branch wiring has known safety concerns. Wiring that has not been updated in many decades may be unsafe. A home that has added many appliances may have outgrown its wiring. We inspect the wiring to determine its true condition. An inspection reveals whether a rewire is needed.

Schultz Family Electric determines whether your home needs rewiring. We inspect the wiring for age, type, and condition. We look for the warning signs of unsafe or failing wiring. We assess whether the wiring meets modern safety standards. We explain what we find in plain terms. We recommend a rewire only when it is genuinely needed. We identify targeted repairs when a full rewire is not necessary. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. An honest assessment tells you exactly what your home needs.

Aluminum and copper are the two main metals used in electrical wiring. Copper is the standard for most residential wiring today. Aluminum was widely used in branch wiring during certain decades. The two metals behave differently in important ways. Copper conducts electricity better than aluminum for the same size. Aluminum expands and contracts more with temperature changes. That movement can loosen connections over time. These differences affect how each metal must be handled.

Aluminum branch wiring carries specific safety concerns. The connections can loosen, overheat, and create a fire hazard. Aluminum also oxidizes, which increases resistance at connections. Connecting aluminum to copper requires approved connectors and methods. Improper aluminum connections are a known cause of fires. Many homes with aluminum branch wiring need attention. We use the proper methods to make aluminum connections safe. We can also recommend rewiring where the concern is significant.

Schultz Family Electric handles both aluminum and copper wiring correctly. We identify the wiring type in your home. We use approved connectors and methods for aluminum connections. We make safe, secure connections between aluminum and copper. We inspect aluminum wiring for the loose connections that cause hazards. We recommend rewiring when the aluminum concern warrants it. We explain the differences and risks in plain terms. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Proper handling keeps your wiring safe regardless of the metal.

Adding wiring yourself carries real risks that most homeowners should avoid. The work involves live electricity that can cause shock or death. Wiring must be sized correctly to prevent overheating and fire. The connections must be secure to prevent arcing. The work must meet the National Electrical Code to be safe and legal. Most wiring additions require a permit and an inspection. Mistakes can leave a hidden hazard inside your walls. The risks usually outweigh the savings.

There are many ways a wiring project can go wrong. Undersized wire overheats and becomes a fire hazard. Loose connections arc and fail over time. An improper splice without a junction box violates the code. Overloading a circuit by adding to it causes trips and hazards. Failing to ground the wiring leaves a shock risk. These mistakes are easy to make without training. They often hide until they cause a serious problem.

Hiring Schultz Family Electric removes these risks. Our licensed electricians size and install wiring correctly. We make secure connections and follow the code. We confirm the circuit and panel can handle the addition. We pull permits and coordinate inspections as required. The work carries our lifetime craftsmanship warranty. You keep your insurance and warranties intact. That safety and assurance are well worth the call.

The time to rewire a house depends on its size and complexity. A small home takes less time than a large one. The number of circuits and rooms affects the timeline. Access to the wiring through walls and attics matters. An occupied home takes longer than an empty one. We work to minimize disruption while keeping the project moving. Every home is different, so we estimate after assessing yours. A rewire is a significant project that takes real time.

Several factors influence the rewiring timeline. A home with easy attic and crawl space access goes faster. Finished walls that must be opened and patched add time. The size and layout of the home affect the work. Adding new circuits and protection extends the scope. Coordinating around an occupied home takes planning. We account for these factors in our estimate. We keep you informed as the work progresses.

Schultz Family Electric rewires homes efficiently and carefully. We assess your home to estimate the timeline accurately. We plan the work room by room to stay manageable. We minimize the openings in your walls and patch them. We work to keep your home livable during the project. We add the grounding and protection modern code requires. We keep you informed throughout the rewire. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. A careful rewire transforms your home’s safety for decades.

A warm outlet is a warning sign you should not ignore. An outlet carrying its normal load should not feel warm. Warmth usually means a connection inside is loose or failing. A loose connection creates resistance, and resistance creates heat. That heat can build until it arcs and causes a fire. An overloaded circuit can also make an outlet warm. Either cause is a real hazard that needs attention. A warm outlet deserves prompt professional inspection.

The danger comes from where the heat can lead. Heat at a connection worsens until it begins to arc. Arcing inside a wall is a serious fire hazard. The heat can melt insulation and damage the wiring. A warm outlet may also show discoloration or scorching. A burning smell makes the situation urgent. You should stop using a warm outlet until it is checked. We treat warm outlets as the hazard they are.

Schultz Family Electric finds the cause of a warm outlet. We inspect the outlet and its connections for the source of heat. We look for loose connections, damage, and overheating. We check whether the circuit is overloaded. We repair the connection or replace the damaged outlet. We address any wiring damage we find. We explain what we found in plain terms. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the repair. Addressing a warm outlet early protects your home from fire.

Remodeling is often the right time to update wiring. Opening walls during a remodel gives easy access to the wiring. Updating then is far cheaper than doing it later. Older wiring revealed during a remodel may not meet current code. A remodel may add loads that the existing wiring cannot handle. New rooms and appliances need new circuits and wiring. The code may require updates triggered by the remodel. We evaluate the wiring during a remodel to advise you.

Several remodel situations call for wiring updates. A kitchen remodel adds appliances needing dedicated circuits. Adding a room requires new circuits and wiring. Opening walls reveals old wiring that should be replaced. The code requires GFCI and AFCI protection in remodeled areas. Outdated wiring found during a remodel is best addressed then. We identify what the remodel requires for the wiring. Updating during the remodel avoids costly future work.

Schultz Family Electric handles wiring updates during remodels. We evaluate the existing wiring revealed by the remodel. We identify what the code requires for the remodeled area. We add the circuits the new layout and appliances need. We add grounding and protection where the code requires it. We coordinate with the remodel to work efficiently. We explain what the wiring needs in plain terms. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Updating wiring during a remodel saves money and improves safety.

Electrical wiring can last a long time, but not forever. Quality copper wiring can last for many decades. The insulation around the wiring degrades faster than the metal. Heat, moisture, and age all break down insulation over time. Connections often fail before the wiring itself does. Our humid coastal climate accelerates some of this wear. The lifespan depends on the wiring type and conditions. Regular inspection catches problems before they become hazards.

Several factors affect how long wiring lasts. The quality of the original installation matters greatly. Wiring in a hot attic degrades faster than wiring in cool spaces. Rodent damage can cut a wire’s life short. Overloading wiring stresses it and shortens its life. Older wiring types degrade faster than modern conductors. Power surges can damage wiring and connections. All of these factors combine to set the real lifespan.

Schultz Family Electric helps you understand your wiring’s condition. We inspect the wiring for age, wear, and damage. We check the insulation and connections for degradation. We identify wiring that is approaching the end of its life. We recommend repairs or rewiring based on the condition. We explain what we find in plain terms. We never recommend replacing wiring that is still sound. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. Knowing your wiring’s condition protects your home.

Rewiring does involve accessing the wiring inside your walls, but the damage is limited. An experienced electrician minimizes the openings needed to run new wiring. We use attics, crawl spaces, and existing pathways to reduce wall openings. Where we must open a wall, we make small, targeted access points. We plan the routes carefully to limit the patching required afterward. The goal is to run the new wiring with the least disruption possible. A skilled rewire causes far less damage than homeowners often fear. Proper planning is what keeps the wall damage to a minimum.

The amount of access needed depends on the home’s construction. A home with an accessible attic and crawl space needs fewer wall openings. We can often fish wiring through walls from above or below. Finished basements and slab foundations may require more access points. Older homes sometimes have framing that affects the routing. We assess your home to plan the least invasive approach. We explain where openings will be needed before we begin. This planning prevents surprises during the work.

Schultz Family Electric rewires homes with minimal wall damage. We use attics, crawl spaces, and existing pathways whenever possible. We make small, targeted openings only where they are necessary. We plan the wiring routes to limit the patching required. We explain where access will be needed before we start. We leave the openings ready for a clean patch and finish. We treat your home with care throughout the project. The diagnostic fee disappears when you choose us for the work. A careful rewire updates your wiring without tearing up your home.
